Velogic Limited, a producer of bike fit systems based in New Zealand, today announced that Cyclologic will take an equity stake in Velogic, with Paraic McGlynn joining as Chief Executive Officer effective November 16, 2022.  

“The Velogic board believe that Paraic is the ideal person to lead the next stage of Velogic’s growth and success.” said Darren Bruning, Chairman of Velogic’s Board. “Paraic’s deep cycling analysis and bike fit knowledge and his industry connections make him uniquely placed to expand Velogic’s reach as we continue to develop and refine our solutions.”  

Paraic McGlynn will already be well-known to most in the bike fit industry - he has been coaching and working with elite athletes in Europe and the US since the early nineties. After moving to the US in 2000 and becoming co-owner of a retail store in Arizona, Paraic founded Cyclologic and worked to develop a more scientific approach to bike fitting, sports orthotics and cycling motion analysis methodologies.

Mr McGlynn replaces Mr Bruning as Velogic’s CEO; Mr Bruning will continue as Velogic’s Chief Software Engineer. As part of the agreement, Cyclologic will take an equity stake in Velogic

I’m especially excited to now have the resources and technical team to execute my longtime vision of a single cycling analysis platform to capture biomechanics data, physical assessments, search bike solutions, perform aero analysis, sizing and more. Darren and I have a clear development pathway and planned new integrations to ensure we deliver the broadest range of analysis options in the highest quality cycling analysis platform”.

Mr Bruning continues: “at Velogic we’ve always been interested in the intersection between scientific rigor and the business realities of running a bike fit studio. Our tools not only provide data to the fitter; they also streamline the fit process overall. Perhaps most importantly, they’re a communication tool for the rider; when a rider understands the problems that the fitter is solving, and why and how interventions are made, they are much more likely to stick with any interventions through the adaptation period. Paraic is a very successful technical bike fitter himself, with a successful business based around fit; we look forward to working with Paraic to create a new force in the bike fit industry”
